THE ART ROOM
THE ART ROOM
The CLPE art room is a thoughtfully designed environment with 7 tables and 32 chairs. Throughout the year, students navigate through each table, allowing them to work in table groups with table tents displaying their "team name." Groups are awarded stamps on their table tents for displaying good behavior and conscious studio habits, where 10 stamps will earn them a trip to the treasure box. Students are aware of the room's organization and are familiar with Table 7 as the demonstration table during class.
The room is equipped with adequate storage space organized by materials, a Smartboard allowing for students to be engaged in 21st century technology during instruction, a kiln, slab-roller, bookshelf holding a variety of art books, and designated spaces to hold student work and sketchbooks for each class.

Cache la Poudre Elementary is one of five schools in the district that pursues authorization as an IB (International Baccalaureate) World School in Primary Years Program. This means that Cache la Poudre is dedicated to the implementation of IB standards, and pathways to achieve student's growth in inquiry. As CLPE's mission is "to challenge all learners to inquire, know, and care about the world," CLPE believes that having a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education is more important for their students. Through following the IB Primary Years Program, it is a school-wide goal for their students to have significance, to explore knowledge of the human condition.
CLPE supports several extracurricular opportunities for students, such as Arts & Crafts, Chess, Young Rembrandts, Choir, Little Kids Rock, Running Club, and Science Matters. Although the school experienced large tragedy and change in 2013 due to heavy floods of Colorado, between the students, their families and the hard working staff, the community remains strong.

As an IB World School, CLPE follows and encourages students to be nurtured by IB traits and mindsets. Each month, the school rotates their focus on one of the traits and encourages students to enact on potential opportunities where they can exhibit characteristics of these learning traits. The IB profiles are as follows:
Inquirers, Thinkers, Communicators, Risk-Takers, Knowledgable, Principled, Caring, Open-minded, Balanced, and Reflective.
Alongside integrating these IB profiles and personality traits into their modeling and instruction, CLPE relies on a behavioral matrix that supports the development of an IB learner. Each student, as they walk into the room on a "balanced" level. If students misbehave or misuse classroom tools, they are challenged to redirect their behavior in "reflect" and "change" levels. However, if students are acting or participating exemplary, they have the opportunity to change their level to "committed"
